The 15th Consultative Meeting of the EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Consortium took place in Brussels on 15 and 18 September 2026, bringing together experts, researchers, practitioners and policymakers for two days of discussions organised by the Fondation pour la Recherche Stratégique (FRS) on behalf of the European Union.
The first day addressed key challenges in nuclear testing, space security and the rules-based international order, as well as preparations for the upcoming Review Conferences of the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons (CCW) and the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention (BTWC).
The second day focused on conventional arms control, exploring developments in global arms markets, intangible transfers of military technologies, technological solutions to prevent arms diversion, and the integration of gender perspectives into conventional arms regulation and control.
Through expert presentations and exchanges among participants, the meeting provided an opportunity to examine emerging challenges, share perspectives and discuss current priorities in arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation.
