Dr Hanna Notte joins us for this episode on an historic effort to establish arms control in the Middle East. She takes us through a comprehensive oral history of the multilateral discussions stemming from an arms control and regional security (ACRS) working group in the early 1990s. Guiding us through the successes and failures of the talks and how they intertwined with the Middle East Weapons of Mass Destruction Free Zone (WMDFZ) initiative, she concludes that inclusive participation, awareness and outside leverage among other elements are vital for progress in this process.
